IE8 and i noticed during the time it takes to load, it's receiving incoming traffic from the site and my mouse freezes when this happens, i don't have a problem with other sites either.. and my connection is 1.5MBytes/second so it should load very quickly.. i just installed firefox, tried the site, now it's loading at a fairly decent speed, even on IE8.. odd.Darkon wrote:radios wrote:every time i go to the main page it takes 3 minutes to load, and when it finally does, when i scroll the page, it's slow and jumpy. i've tried this many times over the past few months, and it's the same. the forums are very quick however.
No problem here either.. what browser are you using?

Both my old system and 56k loaded normal speed
Complete new system, win7, and DSL 768k all loads quite normal, but now it's fast without 56k.
Other than the once in a while refresh (F5) snaffoo, it's not doing anything wierd.I have realtime virus protection on, and no probs there.
(CA Etrust antivirus)
Delete all the cookies and stuff, and re-log on?

i'm getting the slowdown on IE8 again, like usual, i tried firefox again and it loads the site decent. i don't use firefox, so i'd like to be able to use IE8. it appears the server is sending the page in slow spurts, when i scroll the page down it receives another slow spurt, and so on. in firefox, it gets the whole page at once..

I'm using IE8, and I don't experience that problem. The web site is laid out as a table, so I don't think the browser would normally display anything before it had downloaded the lot.
Have you tried turning compatibility view on/off? Picture of a torn page next to the address bar... alternatively, try turning off your accelerators / plugins.
I'm not sure what else to suggest...

We've had these phases before. It should clear up of its own accord.

Sure is annoying though.

I know. But there is nothing I can do about it.

well i finally stumbled upon the problem, with the HIS HD4670, and possibly others, you need to disable video hardware mouse and bitmap acceleration,(one notch down from full) for some reason, THAT affects some webpages making them load slowly, and messes the mouse up, once that is done 2d graphics work normally..
