Has the forum been hacked? Edit: Nevermind

All of a sudden, there are a bunch of keywords highlighted on the main page and forum that direct you to an ad. The ad says "Important Information regarding recent data security breach; due to recent data breaches, we are offering users a free credit score check". the bottom says the ad is by "coolncheap". This ad is in the form of a box that pops up when you hover the mouse over the highlighted keywords.

Edit: Even the word "Free Credit Score" in my post directs users to a pop up box ad when you hover the mouse over it.

Edit #2: Nevermind... My computer evidently has some spyware that my brother accidentally installed on it weeks ago. I never get stuff like this on my computer unless someone else uses it. :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake:

Maybe your brother was just trying to hook you up with some sweet deals

I get these things occasionally, usually you can just uninstall them (look at the site they're linking to and then look for that site in the programs list), but once or twice they've been full-on virus stuff I've had to use programs to delete. Hopefully you got the former.

Yeah, I managed to get rid of it. It was more along the lines of a virus than just normal spyware, because the program would change its name instead of being uninstalled if you went to add/remove programs in Windows. However, with some clever End Tasking, deleting of .dll files and .exe files, all is good now.

Stupid spyware!

Funny thing actually, there was about 2-3 weeks ago I went through my SSD and found out that I had like 20ish of those just laying in my folders, but they never triggered on my Chrome, while on my parents computer they were going crazy.
