Sometimes if I don't visit UnrealSP.org for long time I can miss some important news. So here's an idea:

Is it possible to add some phpBB plugin to forums to enable RSS feeds for threads? (This question is mainly for Raven, I suppose :) )
It's pretty handy to have this feature IMO, because email notifications only shows 1st new post in thread, while RSS feed will enable viewing further replies as well. That will save some time for reading threads that I don't want to leave reply in but just quickly read them.

And while RSS for forums isn't required, in main page with site news it is a must-have thing. It's a default feature for every site nowadays.

Good idea. I've done RSS for phpBB2 long time ago so I can provide script.

That would be great. I would love to have this in RSS...

I'm not really interested in implementing an RSS feed; personally I'd rather people actually visited the site. News moves so slowly here anyway that I don't think you're really likely to miss anything!

Yeah, I can't see why an RSS feed is so great. I'd rather visit a site to see what's going on.

[Edit] Well, I guess I can see why some people might like it, but I don't see any need for it myself.

It is useful if you don't visit forums for a long time. If I don't visit forums for a week, some older posts won't show as new and I may miss some news.
RSS will collect all updates in selected threads.

You know, that's pretty much the point of the main page - collecting all important Unreal news so you won't have to search the forum threads. ;)
Right now the community is dead calm, though, so there isn't a lot to post news about.

The reason we now have a news editor (sana), who can post news more comprehensively and efficiently than I was doing, is so that nothing important or interesting is missed out of the news on the main page. Looking at the main page now, the news currently on display goes back to mid December. You're really not likely to miss out on anything even if you don't visit the site for two months.

If you want more than that, i.e. to keep abreast of updates to key forum threads, well then all you need to do is visit the forums. If it's only certain threads that you want to keep track of then it only takes a few minutes.
