I found the jet missions a novel idea, if a bit arcadey in nature. Hardly as interesting as Wipeout, this map was sufficient in giving you a pretty fun tour across the Na Pali countryside.

All ONP was based on that magic number
That number made ONP so damn annoying.
I already expressed my hate for the two shuttle maps in ONP in the "H&H ONP Maps" thread.
The changed FOV makes things more realistic since you're moving at fast speed, but the visuals look weird and ugly.
It would have been more entertaining if you were able to shoot stuff, but it's just an incredibly linear experience. What about flying over the mountains, searching for the place where you have to arrive?
Sucky gameplay, sucky map. Oh, and I can't forget that bug which forces you to reload the game.
Wipeout is somewhat better due to its architecture, but nothing special anyway.

I do agree with UB on some stuff, such as how your only real objective was to aim your mouse in a certain direction. Would have been interesting if more was done with the idea, but it was really like an interactive intermission. Instead of just showing the player how the shuttle flys across an area and crash/land whatever, you get to cross the distance yourself.

Does anyone have the ONP demo?
pro: original for an unreal map. Had some nice stuff.....
con(s): ...that I would like to go to lateron in the map (castle?). The 1337 thing is cliché, but oh well... Nice attempt, but could've been better, like UB said; make it a huge terrain with that one opening that they have to fly thru to end. If not.. fly around till it runs out of fuel, after which it crashlands (without surviving)... this to make it not-so-lineair...

As said before - really novel idea, but could have been better. Also, quite frustrating (Wipeout was even more frustrating) if you keep crashing and can't get through.
Some shooting might be interesting addition, but well, Unreal is FPS not arcade simulator, isn't it?
Interesting thing. There are Nali Cows standing on the ground on the area shown on the first shot. If you crash land between them they survive the explosion and continue eating grass. Strange, isn't it?
And so iritating, as you would fly pointlessly without knowing your destination as you don't have any kind of tracking/guiding device installed.

Yes.. just as strange as falling blocks of rock way ahead of you when you crash land in the end (where you have to be).....

Of course, if we have some details about the destination, it wouldn't be too irritating: it would be fun, instead of crashing during a trip through narrow mountains for no exact reason.
