Didn't played Iphigenia - Yeah, sorry UW!

Screenshots do their work okay for me. Classic stuff from beginner mappers: low poly architecture, simple layout, unlit lighting, different kind of lighting between rooms, etc...
The tower looks very clean.

I don't really remember the individual maps from this pack. N00bish but not without flair - that's about all I can think to say, having only played Iphigenia once.

Yup...nOObish but *good* noobish given its time. The author did put a lot of time into this. The tower was sorta fun but the Skaarj areas did little or nothing for me.

Despite having it installed for ages, when I looked at the level (and checked over the others too) I realised I somehow never actually played Iphigenia, and what I thought it was is actually something else. Therefore, I thought it would be interesting to make the playthrough show my first ever play of the level (and lead on from the previous, considering I'm going through).

While it's simple it manages to avoid mistakes that many other newbie type maps do (such as going overboard with non-linearity yet providing no guidance as to where you are going, and overly vague goals). It does overdo Flak ammo though, which is essentially the easy way to "balance" an Unreal map, considering it slaughters almost anything. It also pulls off the theme and makes it believable even with the simple architecture (you actually feel like you are climbing a tower), although, considering the backstory, maybe a little more could have been made of the "prison" theme. The cannons at the top are a nice touch too.

The video says more about the map. The outdoor parts are pretty cool.

The small Skaarj segment is also nice in architecture, and gameplay as well; not to mention that you have actually to climb the whole tower, to its top. Cool.

OMG at the amount of Flak Boxes.
