First pic: road goes up inside the mountain.. but the mountain isn't high enough..
I like the 2nd pic.. was nice 'weapon'..
Where is teh jeep?! (was removed at the last moment I thought, because the coding didn't work...)

Yes... and wasn't a large part of this map deleted in the process?
It really does feel very empty without the resident gameplay gimmick.

One of the best maps from ONP. Fight for Destiny is always awesome.
Build-wise... it's pretty damn good, and the lighting is colorful. Getting the secrets is pretty hard though, I recall one of them being over a hangar in the Skaarj outpost. Seeing the Mercenaries (who actually attack you, because they're the normal Scripted Pawns) getting quickly killed by the lasers is fun. Badly planned assault
I think here there's another meteor which falls, and breaks the road shown in the first screenshot (the meteor is not shown in the lake though...). If you fall, you die if you touch the meteor
Well, it's still a hot boulder in the lava after all.
Finally, for an ONP map, the gameplay is not boring. Enemies are put in strategic positions and Skaarj Gunners have tough Rocket Launchers (plus, there are groups of them here).
But the best part is the final canyon where you have to use the StrangeWorld's rocket turret. Time to blow sh1t up, finally a change of pace in the gameplay after tons of easy and generic dodge-and-shoot battles.
The last fight was pretty tough... a new enemy finally! Battle Brutes (Brute-sized Behemoths with a green shield (it's just an aura of some sort) who shoot UT's RL rockets, that HURT. I used the grenades to take them out quickly.
One of ONP's unique map. Too bad for the Jeep, would have been fun (unless if was something like the Shuttle maps that I extremely despise).

i thought that road in the first pic was dropped from the level. IE, the BSP still remains (For if the jeep code ever got finished), but ONPguy never actually sees it.

No... you do get to see it in the game, but only this part. Presumably the road continued from here (instead of being broken) when the jeep was still part of the game.

I remember ghosting around the level and seeing a whole lot of unused, but generally "finished" BSP. Presumably it was the jeep track.

The shots show the locations I remeber best from this map. The fallen bridgre, mostly due to gunners protecting it and the Tesla obelisks (RA influence). To be honest i never realized that the bridge was collapsed by the falling meteor, I though it's this way for no particular reason.
You say this map was supposed to contain a vehicle? That would explain the scale, rather unfitting for traveling on foot.
Still, quite memorable map, and quite interesting gameplay-wise

Didn't get around to commenting last week.
This is one of my favorite levels in ONP (and, combined with the previous level being my favorite, makes this one of the best stretches of the game). While it's a pretty simple level progression-wise it captures the best parts of that in ONP by having various cool things along the way and no particular flow-killers. Along with an awesome music track throughout.
I can't say I mourn the loss of the vehicle much, considering the chance of it being incredibly annoying to use is probably high (then again, I guess they managed the ship levels pretty well).
The secrets hidden behind the bunkers feel very thrown in though. There's also the strange bug with the Trooper's health showing in the bunker.

I always think "transport failed" is that second prisonship experience where ONPguy loses his weapons.

Glad to hear it, and welcome to the forums - but there's really no need to quote the top post on a MOTW thread!
