It's a sharp skin originally enough, but I needed it for team colors... and I have't updated this thread in a long time even though I've edited a lot more skins for the model.

No, I don't often provide links. I do when people ask if there's links to be had.

As for the skin here, I provided the textures that make up this most recent skin. Thing is, I use an out-dated version of oldskool for my Skaarj skins' model so how I set them up for us might not work for others. With the textures provided, if anyone else uses the model in their games, they can edit them into whatever their setup for that model is.

I'd love that if you provided all your Skaarj skins to me as ready-to-import textures, if that's okay with you, that is. I'd like to use them in regular Unreal. Would that be all right?

I can't do all. There was a big drama fest kicked off over in the BeyondUnreal forums on this in 2011 because a lot of the Skaarj i edited were originally the works of others that never team colored them. They made them for monsters, or skins that were never for teams, and because I couldn't credit all the original authors, as a lot of them aren't still around, or even list them as I didn't know who they were, it kicked up a lot of...

...well, drama.

Some I can do. I take it the textures I placed in this thread, the individual team colored textures, you can't use because you don't know how to convert them from True Color .png to 256 color .pcx?

It's all about redoing and redoing the same image. The quality WILL decrease. Hence my request for the source files.

Not for me, but I use ThumbsPlus in my graphics conversions.

Tell you what, when I get home I'll convert those most recent to .pcx and then put them in a .zip and put them here, okay?

Okay, because this comes up a lot, here and there, and my mind wanders a lot, price of senility, I'm going to, sometime later this week (such a comma whore) setup a download of one of these various Skaarj Skins how I do them.

The model I use for the SKtrooper comes ouf ot the original oldskool, setup by Usaar33 a LONG time ago. The more up to date version of oldskool eliminated that model... which is why I don't use it. My setup is designed specifically for that model, though it does work on another.

There's a model pack of Unreal1 models for UT, and it has an SKtrooper. There's a flaw in that model which causes it to freeze up on bots randomly, literally stuck in place until something kills it, which is why I don't use it... but my skin setup does work on that model too.

I'll pick a random skin and set it up for a download here, probably Thursday. Maybe sooner.

I still laugh when I see the skin with the white-crisscross pattern being used from 7B beta placeholder material, and now it looks like you made a team color for it :o .

Hard to use it in team games without it.

That's close to how I do skins for most models, though his setup for .int at the bottom isn't exactly the same as mine. Same content, but I order it differently.

While I did post the individual textures for that Skaarj skin, I didn't post an .int or .utx for it. At work so can't check it now, but what's in that .zip exactly?

Heheh, sweet! I made the skins in that package 8) Glad to see someone held on to the package and reuploaded it; I was trying to find the link in the post I made here some time ago, but naturally the download link was removed due to inactivity.

I am quite content with how this pack came out. Would have loved to make some talk-textures to work with it if OldSkool supported them.
