Subject: 7 Bullets install Issue...

Post Posted: 28 Jan 2012, 20:28

Hello, I've just downloaded sevenbullets121full file, and I noticed that 7 bullets is in it's own folder with a 7bullets.ini file. The problem is that when I run the game using the shortcut, all my colors look very light and washout. I have an older version of 7 bullets when it was not in its own folder, and the colors are fine. So I think that there is something in 7 bullets.ini that is causing my colors to look wash out. My question is that is there a way I can run 7 bullets 1.21 but with my own configuration file? Thanks much

You probably just need to copy the settings for whichever render device you use from your standard UnrealTournament.ini to the other .ini and ensure it is set to use the same device. So if you're using OpenGL, for example, ensure that

[Engine.Engine]
GameRenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice

is set, and that your settings under

[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]

are copied to the new file.

This sounds strange. My installation of 7B makes use of the normal UT folders (and it's the last version too and even if it's not true how can I check it?).

1.21 is the last version, correct? I have one that makes use of the normal UT folders too, but that one seems to be an older version

The version I have is "sevenbullets-121-full.zip" I'm pretty sure that's the latest one and it also makes use of normal UT folders.
I usually start up 7 Bullets from Oldskool, and it works just fine for me.

shawnd123, where did you get your version? The version I have have the same name as your, but the readme said to use the batch file or shortcut to start it. Thanks.

Here ya go: http://www.mediafire.com/?fwaye5mnsggr3qe
This also has a batch file, but can also be launched with Oldskool.
And here is version of Oldskool that I am using: http://www.gamefront.com/files/20274433 ... 30full_zip
Also, don't forget to download and install all of the Unreal Tournament Bonus Packs 1-4, which can easily be found at FilePlanet.

If 7Bullets still doesn't work for some odd reason, I would recommend a fresh re-installation of UT, then installing the files mentioned above. Sometimes files gather up for me and conflict with each other, which is really strange.

I have another version of seven bullets called 7bullets-zip.zip. I play single player only, is the necessary to get the 1.21 version?

7bullets-zip.zip seems to be an older version. I would recommend getting the latest version just to be sure (I only play single player as well).
If you don't want to download 121, then install oldskool230full, then try launching 7bullets from Oldskool (don't forget to go to the mods menu and "enable oldskool amp'd"). If the campaign doesn't even appear in the "New Single Player Game" Menu, then you'll probably need to update your version of 7B, as well as making sure you have all 4 UT Bonus Packs installed.

I guess the question I want to ask is: is there a way to play 1.21 but without using the settings from 7bullets. ini?

Ah. Actually, I don't even think the 7bullets.ini should be touched, but perhaps I am wrong about that. Launching 7B from Oldskool usually sticks with the settings used in the original .ini settings. The graphics/sound driver and the like should all be the same as what is selected within the original UT .ini.

I didn't use 7bullets.ini. I just dissected the archive putting u's and int's in System, unr's into Maps and so on. 7B was perfectly launchable from OldSkool and with the latest Dohnal OpenGL tweaked to the max it looked just fine.

Oh! Thanks for mentioning that Delacroix!
Perhaps you don't have the most recent OpenGL driver?

I think the download link is down. Anywhere else we can download this?
