Hi all
Since installing UT on my new PC I've been plagued by a CD check whenever I start the game.
This wasn't happening on my old PC. I know there's another version of one of the later patches (the nodelta version) that removes the CD check, but I'd swear that I DIDN'T have that patch installed on the old PC.
Is there anything else that could cause this issue to arise, for example a failure to detect certain files? I've moved all of Epic's stock files from Maps, Sounds, Music and Textures into Maps/UT/, Sounds/UT/, Music/UT/ and Textures/UT/, but I've also updated the paths in unrealtournament.ini to point to these locations, so it should be able to see them.
Suggestions welcome!

That's.... strange. You need to instal official patch 4.36 to remove CD check (4.51 wouldn't hurt), the nodelta version is for those, who lost their original UT cd or are expiriencing CD Drive failures.
But it SHOULD work.

I would reinstall the game, were I in your position. For a completely new rig you have, it's a fairy small game and it shouldn't take more than five minutes to do it. Perhaps it helps. Also, when you install the game don't overwrite any important UT files in the System directory with older backups you might have. Maybe that's causing it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
However, I moved Detail.utx and Palettes.utx back from \Textures\UT\ to \Textures\, and now it works fine.

You don't need a no cd patch, just change the line in the ini:
CdPath=YOURCD:\
to
CdPath=C:\UnrealTournament
CdPath=YOURCD:\
to
CdPath=C:\UnrealTournament
