So I kind of realise I'm late to the game in finally getting around to completing Hexephet, but... wow.
I've played a good few SP campaigns in my time, but Hexephet in my opinion just completely nails that Unreal 'feeling'. The difficulty was damn near pitch-perfect all the way through, the hidden surprises scattered throughout and the general non-linearity of the levels were just so much damn fun. The two bosses at the end in their separate little lairs was such a cool flourish as well, but it all felt totally in-keeping with the original spirit of the game.
I'm aware there are plenty more levels and campaigns that pull off the Unreal atmosphere really well. Do any of you guys have particular favourites in that regard? When you find that one map or campaign that pulls you right back to that feeling of awe when you first played Unreal?

Gonna have to give a very enthusiastic shout out to Tower of Shrakitha and One Day. Especially if you enjoyed Hexephet.

yea Mr Prophet nails it again. +1 for One day and Shrakitha. Weirdly enough I'd also put ONP on the list, which I think many people here would take issues with :p

Actually, I kind of agree. Kind of. The actual level design is IMO pretty sublime, it's just the voice-acting, constant terrible '1337' jokes and lack of background lore and translator messages that spoil it a bit for me.
Playing through Shrakitha just now and it's pretty great!
