From OldUnreal site:
Unreal 227c released [31-03-2008]
Again lot of fixes have been applied for clients and some more stability tests and fixes for servers.
The Linux version was improved again, new D3D9 renderer has been added for Windows and many other things have been taken care of.
Now does this mean that this is the final.. or is this still a beta?
(if it's the final.. it'll probably worth it to put it in the news section!)

I'd love to try this out but I'm forced to wait until 227 begins to support UGold (upak.u)

I don't think it ever will. I've heard that Epic didn't give Smirftsch permission to do so.

I think he has to make UGold only version of 227. He didn't get permission to add UPak.u into standard release.

True,I'm not sure though but wouldn't he have to ask one of the devs who helped DE make RTNP?

From what I read in the oldunreal fourms raven that's what he's doing.

As far as I know it's like this. You can upgrade UGold to 227 but RTNP won't work. The reason of incompatibility of UGold and U1 is UPak.dll. The funny think is, that you can delete all native functions form UPak and recompile it and RTNP will work exactly the same. So, 227 will come for UGold (with RTNP support) but only final version. Smirf can not include UPak in standard 227 release. It has to be UGold only.

Yeah ok.. so there'll be a standard 227 release for U1 and a separate 227 release for UGold users.. if I understand your message right that is..?

Wouldn't that cause compatiblity issues though?
Epic's proven to be rather inept at times in any case.

compabilities in between U1's? I don't think so. This isn't coming from Epic, so.. I trust this will be taken care of in a decent way!

pre 227 mods/maps will run in 227 without any problems. Dunno if 227 mods/map will run in pre227 versions of Unreal.
