ividyon will never get this done, will he.

Is there a mod or mutator like this anywhere, please?

For gameplay advice and broader discussion of single-player Unreal including custom maps, mods and mutations that alter the game.

The original 1999 Unreal Tournament is still my favourite of the series, and the one I play the most, and the fantastic range of third party mods, mutators, and levels has made the game timeless for me, I just never get tired of it. But for a long time I've been looking for a mod/mutator (or hoping that if it doesn't yet exist, then someone would write it as it would be great, and I think very popular)

I've been looking for a way to define my own 'single player' campaign for UT - by which I mean a way to create a whole new match ladder for the game. You know how the single player game is a serious of bot matches in preset configurations (the map, the number of bots, etc), well I'd love to be able to create a new tournament using the levels and bots and whatever of my own choosing. So if it is possible, please could someone create a mod that allows this.

It doesn't have to be fancy or full of options, just able to allow the user to define which maps and settings to use, and preferably be able to store several different tournament ladders and their gamesaves, all for offline play for a single player. Oh, and please don't force the user to use any particular mode, i.e. in my case I won't be adding any Domination matches as I don't find them enjoyable! Please allow the user to select only the modes that (s)he chooses. And of course the user should be able to choose third party maps (if the mod/muator only allowed the official UT maps then it wouldn't be much of a change, of course)

It be OK if the maps and scores/options to be used had to be entered into a text file by the user - say if the mod, when activated, presented the user with a Load File box, and the user had to choose a text file which defined the new single player ladder, that way the user could have different multiplayer ladders, each one defined by a text file that the user would create/edit to create a new single player ladder.

I'd be happy if such a mod came out for Unreal Tournament 2004, but personally I prefer UT99 over UT2004.

Thanks for reading, and for any answers.

The only alternative I have seen is

I've tried that, and it is good, as it does add a new single player set of matches, but unfortunately the matches are fixed in the mod, so you can't define your own.

Thanks for mentioning it, though.

Someone else suggested Real Tournament too (http://medor.no-ip.org/index.php?dir=Ga ... ournament/).

I actually tried to make a mod that let you customize the ladder, but you have to make a button in the mod category of the main menu that loads an entire copy of the UT99 Menu with more options. This probably isn't that difficult, but I don't know much about GUI programming with this game so I got a little tired of the mass that the project had  . Of course at that time I was very new to any programming at all, it probably can be done much easier today with a little bit of testing and organization.

Note: I might be wrong about having to load the entire menu, but the hotbar of the menu links to particular classes so you would probably have to make an entirely new menu to link your own custom dialogue buttons and boxes. I got to the point where I made a button that opened a box but I struggled just trying to figure out how to do that.

Actually the SP-Ladder thing IS your solution. Just modify it. Decompile it via UnrealEd, change the maps and whatnot and recompile. Bam.

How do I do that, please? I've never tried to mod UT at all.

Sorry for the loooooooooooooong delay in replying, I'd forgotten all about this, but I would still love to be able to create custom ladders using my own choice of maps.
