In oldskool it is possible to bind a key to reload your automag(s), and you can see how much ammo is in your clip.
Is there a simple mutator or setting to enable this in 227? I'm not too fussed about the ammo indicator, but I would greatly appreciate being able to manually reload again.

Late, but just do what everyone's done for years:
mousewheelup -> mousewheeldown or the inverse, assuming they are nextweapon/prevweapon
before I had a mousewheel I'd use numpad minus then numpad plus to do this.
damn near instant reload back to 20
I guess you could also do set input {KEY} prevweapon | onrelease nextweapon to do it in one key, but I forget if those are the exact commands

lol, I half had that thought at the back of my head. Somehow a reload key feels more natural than weapon switching but I guess it's a habit which I can pick up. Cheers
