I was always wondering why this map is called so... This is a Russian word, the meaning is "northerly".
Does anybody know the history of creating of this map? Or it's author?..

Severnaya is a level in the N64 game GoldenEye. A cold, snowy Russian tundra level that you visit twice, both times preceding the Bunker levels. The DM version has part of the outer helipad. The location was a prominent scene in the film (when the GoldenEye satellite EMPs the installation there).

Dunno how exactly this relates to the map though :)

That's why Unreal2 Severnaya's name doesn't fit it's theme. There're no Russian tundra, no snow and no bears, LOL. It's a tropical map with big dam and beautiful hills around it.
