Thanks to UBerserker's continued review rampage, UnrealSP.Org now provides insight into the first two re-released 8th Anniversary Speedmapping Contest entries, winner The Last Fortress by Waffnuffly and ambitious entry Vacillations of a Victorian Vagrant by Hellscrag, making for pleasantly high-rated additions to the review loadout.
There are more creations waiting for reviewal, however. Check out the New map review suggestion box over at the forums if you want to give writing a try!

TLF 90%?!?! (is there anything else that's been rated higher than that...?)

Shrakith'a as a small campaign has also 90%. Nothing is higher than both.

Well, it IS a single map, so I guess it's rated to a different standard than a small map pack or large campaign. I seriously doubt TLF is as good as Shrakith'a.
"and, finally, no bugs on sight" lol what the hell, are you just ignoring the node-bustin' BSP fuckery going on near the main tower and stuff? The day I make something without bugs is the day the universe inverts!
"and the author in the middle of all the confusion in the Unreal editor has probably forgot something" lololololl nah I made sure everything was set up properly, but sometimes the pathfinding + AI + triggering buggery causes some enemies to not actually attack you. It's fairly random. The huge distances involved and the pawns' maximum line of sight was a real problem to get over.

uh where? D:
Are you talking about those microscopic graphical glitches that you often see when you look around? (mostly visible when you're in the first section of the map)
Haven't seen anything else then - also I was referring to certain kinds of bugs such as big HOMs, invisible walls and anything of big magnitude.

Finished reading. Sounds good, but I think you may have overrated it a little And now I get to check out VVV!
And I'm already surprised it got a 75; I'd have expected at LEAST an 80 since it's a really great map. And 7 for architecture? Really??? There's no way TLF deserves a 10 and this a 7!

What about my map?
Will read these reviews. Maps definitely deserve their high scores.

VVV: A gratifying and fair review; thank you, UB. It sounds like you pretty much "got" what the map was trying to do. The review is on the spoilerific side, particularly in respect of the Infernal Machine, but it would have been hard not to be; and I'm grateful that you didn't reveal all the details of the final boss(es). I think the score is fine. I can't agree that the Minigun is useless, though - one of the things I wanted to achieve in this map was to get people using the Minigun (and Razorjack), and in the absence of a Flak Cannon I think you pretty much have to use it when you get backed into a corner.
TLF: A fantastic score, well deserved. It's good to know that single maps can do it. Yes, Waff, I think TLF is at least the equal of Shrakith'a in very many respects.
LS222: Good point! I have to admit, I'd forgotten that you'd re-released it. It deserves a review.

Some editing points - both reviews have the Unreal icon at the top, and neither are described as "New" on the Reviews page.

I would have used the Minigun but as I said, there was the Automag, which is way more safe to use. Enemies like the Skaarj go sometimes crazy with their movements when you use the Minigun or any high ROF weapon.

I like the 'mag, but I wouldn't use it if I were backed into a corner.

Lies and slander!
Also, I had to edit the review's last paragraphs a bit to avoid too many spoilers. I guess it can't be helped...
