The astute among you will have noticed that, despite there being no official announcement, a partial Xidia Gold walkthrough has for some time been available in the Custom Map Tips section. I am delighted to announce that, after a quite inordinate delay (due primarily to the article's sheer volume) the full text is now available. Thanks to UBerserker for a truly epic piece of work!

I just read through it all, and I'm very happy. It's really a great walkthrough for XG on Unreal difficulty, and I appreciate that UB took the time to figure out all the "tricks" and strategies needed to beat the game.

Xidia Gold was meant to be challenging, but in a fair way. And while in retrospect I know we didn't always make things clear (and slighted the player in a few instances as far as provisions were concerned and as far as certain sequences were setup, like the JumpBoots in Black Widow ect), this is certainly the best possible game guide anyone could have written up for it. For anyone reading, this guide is how XG should be played.

PS - The Flares were added to be used as weapons. I know many people (UB included) choose to ignore them, if done right....they really come through in a pinch on those two or three enemies you want out of the way without squeezing your trigger ;)

You read all of it?

Given how long it took me to format and edit it, that's quite an accomplishment.

Maybe he already read the first and second part in different moments :P

I'm pretty proud of this walkthrough. I remember writing it as it was yesterday.
Ah, kill the monster in a way, then re-load, kill the monster in another way, then re-load... do the same until you find the best strategy. Those were cool times.

Great work! I'm already finding it useful in my travels around Xidia.
