The shit you show off in this thread is totally different to what we saw in the contest Is there still going to be that epic dream sequence?

It is embarrassing to admit but the dream sequence (The Ibyn Complex, it was called) was a prologue for The Oll Stone kind of hacked together at the last second because it was obvious to me that I was going to finish what I originally had planned in time but I still wanted to create something for the contest. It ended up being better received then I thought it would so I guess I could release a bugfixed version possibly expanded to have a little more than the three minutes of gameplay it currently has. I'll edit the second post to include information about the prologue sometime soon as well.TheIronKnuckle wrote:The shit you show off in this thread is totally different to what we saw in the contest Is there still going to be that epic dream sequence?

I dunno if anyone was watching this project but, if there is anyone is out there waiting warmly for the day they can finally play The Oll Stone, I am not dead and neither is this project. Progress has just been slower than desired. But hey look! I've got an update! I apologize in advance for the crappy image editing as I recently acquired some new hardware and still need to install much of the software I am accustomed to using for these sorts of tasks. After many hours in mspaint I did manage to get some images together to show progress made since last September.
First up the Guardian.
The Guardian is a new weapon for The Oll Stone intended to be more thematically appropriate than Unreal's built-in fare. It is loosely based off real world revolvers of the same time period. Like the revolvers used for reference, it packs a punch, but is a real pain to reload. A biorifle and ASMD just wouldn't fit in story set in 1905.
The skins shown are a work in progress.
Low-poly pickup model and ammo pickups.
The second by announcement is the projected release date. I aim to be finished by September of this year. I don't mean "within a decade of September" as my previous update schedule might indicate. No matter what I give my word that The Oll Stone will be released by the end of 2012. I've put too many hours into this to see it go unfinished.
Finally, a message regarding the prologue. The final release will include an updated version of the prologue using features developed for The Oll Stone. The overall experience will not be drastically different, but it will offer new content so those who played the original will not be bored to death.

It's good to see people are still interested in this.
In 1095 that would have been The Saxons. In 1905 it exists in a test map used to test code and weapons. Or maybe elsewhere. Or maybe not. I'd hate to spoil anything. But yeah, I'll just leave this here.Waffnuffly wrote:That looks really slick. I wonder who carried Eightball guns in 1095

I can't wait to see what it looks like when it gets textured.

If you see this, I was a really dumb and stupid kid. Don't listen to the above.

The second post was updated with some new information, but nothing game-changing. Here is some art.
I spend an exorbitant amount of time on this book and for no good reason.
The textured rocket rifle. Animating this is going to be a lot of work.
Custom armor pickups.
I've got a lot left to do on this project before I can call it complete, but progress is being made every day, even if it is only a little bit.

holy crap. Every shot you release increases the anticipation. I hope this doesn't turn into another ISV dragonfly though: super innovative, super awesome etc, and then never finished or released (No disprespect to Qtit, Personally I think he's just splendid)

Lol, none taken.
Still, just you wait XD
Anyway, the textures and models you make? Classy. I love it, they have this old classic feel.

Progress on this project is looking great, ebd! Very interesting models and textures, indeed!
And I also have to say, I was browsing through this thread and said, "Holy crap, that's Sanae Kochiya from Touhou!"
