Muahaha... Will you polish My Redeemer aswell?

Ok. I'll try to create the HUB map. But, not alone. Every and each of you, if you are willing to, is oblidged to create a part of this map. Single passage to his level.

What's more, I'm thinking bout creating a trophee models for each map:
Golden Chef's Hat,
Silver Victorian Table Leg,
Bronze Dragonsfly's... abdomen?. Need to think that one out.

I'm thinking about it as large modern museum hall with lot of Unreal things. Soon - screenshots.

What do you think?

If each mapper is still going to make their own entrance for their maps, perhaps we could get some specs as to what the level entrances should be like?

That depends on the mapper. I'll make an entrance to a corridor. Very short one. The door/corridor/portal/jumppod/you-name-it is up to you. You'll have a certain area to buid on, let's say 1024x1024x1024 and you do what you like.

If you want you even can change the entrance, add something, remove... I don't know. Use your imagination.

Waffnuffly will have the podium at the end of themusem, biggest, highest, most visible place. And a half of mapspace to do his entrance :D

So far:

Just tried to make some concept. That is the entrance to the building, inside will be filled with exposures concerning Unreal, some foliage, fountains (the water_streaming_down_the_glass fountain type), and some other stuff. Then player reaches the bigger hall, with a lot of windows in the roof, where one can choose a map they want to play. First will be the 6-hour maps. I don't know if there's any point in making other corridors for every of them. But, if you wold like to, no problem. Then, other maps situated on both sides. Every map will be provided with it's revision on a Computer Panel. No, I won't use translator messages. I hate that thing.

On the centre of the room there will be a screen with description of each place, and a podium with trophees.

I use the EOL textures along with some of it's color variations in second pack.

Suggestions?

Wohha.. the skybox. The 256 colour limit made it really ugly. If you have photoshop try to save it as "save for web" under files or however it is called there. Thats also the way Digital Extremes made it for the textures I noted.
Otherwise I could do it for you if you want.

Anway: What about triming the archways with a trim textures instead of just basic textures?
The rest looks so far good.

You mean the dark corners shit? That's HUD. I'll remove it later on.

Sounds good. I would echo Peanuts' request for info on how map entrances should be designed. I guess it depends on your design, but some info as to what size brushes / hallways we should be interfacing with and how much space we have would be helpful.
