Based on those pics I think changing the colour of the Skaarj lights would help; as it is they kind of merge with the general ambient lighting of the picture. As a bonus it would draw more attention to the changes the Skaarj are making to the place.

Image vs. Image vs. Image

New on the right. Does this look better? I greened the Skaarj lights a bit (41 hue to 64) and lowered the saturation on the sunlight from 100 to 50. Hue on the sunlight is 24.

[edit] added third shot, 128 hue 96 saturation

Better, but I personally would use blue. I hate green. It's the Unreal overbright color. Ueh...

Yeah, that's true. Thing is, Skaarj aren't really the "blue type," what with the Mothership being all green and stuff. I'll play around some more with color until I get something foreboding yet not reminiscent of over-brightened textures ;)

[Edit] Tried out a more blue look. How does that compare? You're right in that it does look a lot better, and still has an unnatural, unfriendly look.

I definitely think the blue is the best looking one (although the green is an improvement too). I think the saturation of the light could be a little lower; since there aren't too many sources around there (although that might change later) I think making the contrasts for the ambient light that are there more striking could work well.

This cold look rule. Though watch out or you'll end up with "I'm blue" theme. Try different colors for same lighttypes. You know, sometimes one bulb goes "puff" and a new one is more like green-ish.

One more shot and I'll shut up:

Saturation 25 on sunlight now, saturation 64 on blue light. Think I'll go with this. Thanks guys!

The blue is probably the best so far imo

The most recent picture with the chilling blue light works best.

I preferred the green one. Blue just doesn't fit with all the orange in the shot for me.

And that's the idea. Skaarj brought chaos to the world, thus their light brings chaos to the scene hue.

What :c

I find it as a horrible colour combination, no excuse. Blue is not appropriate for the Skaarj, and neither fits well in the shot where it is used. Too much colourful, I think the saturation should be lowered a lot.
