Wow, that was loooong time ago when I used Tracker.

Pity is I don't have my music anymore. At least I can't find it.

I have a whole bunch of songs (13 I think) of my own music I made for my own maps, only problem is they are for UT. Probably Unreal can read them but they are not tracked out like the unreal songs are. In BT (UT) the song starts when you start and when the song is over it loops back to the beginning and then starts again.

I am still trying to figure out how to make songs like unreal songs so that they can be evented during the map when you do certain things. I have no clue about how to make them loop in sections. But I need to find out....

Soon my first Unreal SP map will be completed (once I can figure out why my sky crashes Unreal within 30 seconds after start)
I really want to make an Unreal type song that can be evented throughout the map.

edit: old song off my first map.....

see what I mean? It loops but only after the song finishes....how do I get it to have sections?

Whole song here is one single sample.
Try exporting any of the Unreal song and look how it is made. It's a bunch of samples set in patterns. Not one big wave sound as yours is.
This way they are smaller, they sound better, they can be looped and evented. Tracker formats can't start playing sound if it isn't on the pattern.
So, if you try to play a sound from pattern 1 that starts on a pattern 0 it will always fail.

As Qtit points out Ozma, what you are using is a "WAV" inside a tracker-mod.
Only use this type of hack if you have to, and only for off-line maps.

Only real tracker modules, can have multiple songs embeded in the same file.
This is not very common, and you will find most multi-mod files are made for games, unless the author wanted to bake several tunes from the same sample set.
Until you learn to make real tracker mods, you will have to hunt for existing copyright-free multi-mods that fit the sound you want.

Here is a page dedicated to tracker music for UEd.
http://my.opera.com/Unreal-Tournament/blog/music
I have prepared some real tracker files (and converted some free MP3s for test/comparison purposes). All are chosen on the basis of quality and mood.
There are also links to more music, players and resources.

If you use converted MP3s etc. you would have to make them into "UAX" sound files, instead of "UMX" music. That way you can use them as individual spot effects.
This is not a good idea though, as it will make your distro expressively large.

nice....thanks for the link, So I make all my songs from scratch mostly in fruity loops but sometimes put together in acid pro. So I guess I should make all the "movements" or sections and then use some sort of program to make them as tracker mod pieces all in one "song". I haven't even been able to really get the map started due to weird vid card crash issues, etc. So I'm a long way from making the song (I usually do the song wavtoumx after the final build of the map)

If you are still looking to get your head around tracker mods, then get the old ModPlug Tracker and look open the help file.
I was looking through it the other day, and there is a useful quick guide to using it.
The last version of the new Open MPT did not have the help file, so just install the old one, then install the new one over the top.

To compare with Fruity Loops, type software.
Fruity loops etc. scroll across the screen, Trackers scroll up and down the screen.

MODPlug Tracker Quick Start Kit http://www.modplug.com/trackerinfo.html
Open ModTracker http://openmpt.org

It can also just be used to convert files into a usable UEd format.

Thx. Going to come up with some more section ideas and expand and replace at and after the 0:27 mark. Any suggestions appreciated... I'm considering taking samples from another .umx and cleaning up all the other unused ones from Vortex.

Everything prefixed with "Musical Dragon" are things I made from scratch, yes they're covers but I had no sheet music nor could I read sheet music and did everything by ear.

In actuality I am a dark ambient composer but I've yet to actually finish anything I make so the only thing you'll find on my channel are covers, which are the only things I feel confident putting on my channel.

I only use IT.EXE, I'm planning to look around for a Pentium with MMX and a first generation SB16 and 64 MB of RAM so I can have a native environment to use it in.
