Because I'm trying to make one and it simply results in... nothing.

None of the messages play, none of the sounds play, the menu is all showing up fine but NOTHING plays. What the hell is this shit?

All I did was subclass VoiceMaleTwo (I remember if I tried to subclass just VoiceMale or VoiceMaleOne it resulted in it not even working at all but now it's not working at all no matter what I subclass)

My CalebVoicePack subclasses VoiceMaleTwo and everything is working COMPLETELY FINE, so what the hell's wrong with what I'm doing?

Also for the record I spent five hours trying to figure this out to no avail, whoops.

It's easy to mess up a VP and not know why until you spot the obvious thing you missed. Be sure your sounds are mono, not stereo, that they are all imported into the .u package and are actually saved in that package (i.e. your .u file is the size of all your sounds and a teeny bit more, not only a few KB or less), ensure that the sound files are there in the VP properties, ensure the text is there in the VP properties, and then be sure you have an .int for it.

Best thing to do is just look very closely at an existing, known-good voicepack and replicate everything done there.

I replicated everything I did with my first one. There's no ScriptWarning's in the log or anything alerting me that something's amiss.

What the fucking hell is with UT99 and being asinine to make shit for it?

Also I tried making one where it's just VoiceMaleTwo with nothing, Package called A, the class called B and it comes out as silence EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO DEFAULT PROPERTY CHANGED!

Removed all the INT's to the mods I have so it's just a stock UT99, and still doesn't work.

EDIT: Download links, have fun debugging this shit for me
http://www.udhq.org/dl/utvoicepacksareshit.7z

U2Sargent is something I made a long time ago but lost and made it again and apparently UT99 doesn't like it even though there is no reason why.

The A package contains dummy subclasses with NO CHANGED DEFAULT PROPERTIES so they should in *theory* be the same as Male One and Male Two, BUT SURPRISE THEY AREN'T!

EDIT 2: Oh my god I don't believe this.

I had to copypaste the ClientInitialize RIGHT OUT OF ChallengeVoicePack and paste it into my voice pack to get it to work.

I DID NOT HAVE TO DO THIS WITH MY OLD CALEBVOICEPACK!!!!!!!!!!

Since WHEN does class inheritance fail this HORRIBLY in Unreal!?!?!? This scares the hell out of me...

well... yes. There is a black magic, and you have to learn it well. But if you want your script to magically compile, its Abrah Kadabrah!

I know it's less than ideal, but have you tried "PlayThis! Voice Pack Creator" ?

The maker of the 2K4 version was going to add UT99 support but I don't know if he did.
