Yeah but that was what disgunished the Krall from all the others. They were truly unique and not yet another generic predator ripoff. In UT3 they are now almost like the Skaarj except for the face and the odd spike here and there. Heck, they now even have green reptillian skin, just like the Skaarj! Ever saw a Krall in U1 leap 10 metres? Didn't think so.

They might as well have given them a different name.

Skaarj-Krall hybrids! :o (years have passed from U1 to UT3, so they may have got an evolution. In other words, nothing to worry about, as long as they look great).
Back on topic though.

ofcourse despite being blasphemy, now you mention it i do agree that the new krall look cooler. I've never really cared for the old one that didn't look any threat at all.

but still u97 krall pwnz all ;)

hopefully they start doing something with the brute, imo thats one of the most idiotic creatures in unreal and doesn't look menacing in any way.

That's nice for you, but there are more people on this forum... and you should think about others' opinion as well. People don't like it when you push them into a corner, whether you're right or wrong.

I have to agree with Zynthetic and Mr. Prophet, if there weren't tons of SP mods for UT2k4 it wasn't for the lack of the gametype (I saw more than one framework, and SP mods exists (just think at MetaBall and Killing Floor) but the necessity of spending tons of time creating new stuff. Doing Unreal-like (cubish and all, with just brushes) maps in UT3 would take much less time than doing them in Ued1, it's just that for UT3 you need to raise the quality of the work. It's hard to see single persons being able to do everything necessary to a proper SP mod (mapping, modelling, texturing, scripting), but I'm sure that mod teams won't be few for UT3. Once someone posts something like OSMT (which is the most famous SP-like thing for UT2004, but SP frameworks have been available for a long time) SP maps (and coop) will start to rain down.

Unreal Single Player modding community [all unreals] teams useually take more than two years to do one project in UT...i doubt much will be done in ut3 for a LOOONG time. And that is without factoring in the fact that all new content must be made. Look at the ut2k4 sp community, and relize that the UT3 one will be half of that.

Dude, that's kind of exactly what I meant :o If you're convinced of something in your mind, that's all that matters.

I can definetly see a noticable difference.
Kinda lame though, Krall used to be squad based and sorta weak(which made them cool in their own way). Now they are hulks that rival skaarj, lost their staffs and look like a totally different creature. :shake:

But it's not all about the graphics and the appearance, retconning stuff like that is pretty lame tbh ;)

But, well, Unreal 1 Krall won't be as impressive to Unreal series newcomers, eh..

Well think of the new Krall as being genetically enhanced by the Skaarj. They took some of them and changed them and grow them as they do with the bruts.

Evolution wins and appearance counts, or they'll end up being tard-looking space clowns like most of the UT2k4 characters (MR. CROW).

well i'd rather have a game full of mr crow looking characters (who imo, was pretty decently cool anyway.... for a quake3 ripoff :o ), then the disgustingly stupid looking obese-fat-inbred-farmer-dudes/chicks-with-downs-syndrome-in-warhammerish-armor ***COUGH gorge n his family COUGH***

i seriously thought those character were a valid reason for me to hate ut2k3 like anyone else did (especially since they were about the only choosable characters apart from the retardbots with zippy voices and the unlockable malcolm)
