Plot: You are an independent archaeologist. In a time when Liandri Corporation is searching for new, profitable venues for its Grand Tournament, you go to the surface of Na Pali with the intent of preserving as much of the planet's history as you can. Having traveled a long way, you come across ruins that speak of the lost Chapel of the Elders. A wizened Nali Priest tells you that the Chapel was destroyed decades ago, but you believe that there may be something left, something worth saving.
Author's Notes: This is going to be a map with a lot of indoor and outdoor areas. In terms of size and scale, the terrain will be similar that of to Spire Village. The temple areas will be a lot like Chizra or Ruins. That's all I really have to say about it for now.
UPDATE: Unless I suddenly decide to work on it again, V3 is probably going to be the last version of CoTE. Added more health, powerups, and ammo.
Notice: On Unreal difficulty, you don't start with a Dispersion Pistol. On the other difficulties, you do. The only real difference between Hard and Unreal is that Hard has a DP, and Unreal doesn't. That's pretty much it.

This takes place before DM-Arcane. Liandri Corp. is just starting to get a foothold in Na Pali. The Skaarj still have control over most of it, but Liandri is reckless enough to host a tournament match even with the Skaarj there.
Edit: Post updated with a couple of preview shots.

liking the shots. That first one shows potential. It'd be awesome if the cliffs had tunnel networks running around inside, every now and then opening out and giving a view of the village below. Even better is if part of the village were located inside those tunnels.
But that's just me day dreaming, stick to whatever plan you've got

Yeah, go build your own entry!
Anyway, I like the looks of those pics, particularly the first one.

Thanks for the comments!
That does sound like a pretty good idea. I've always wanted to make a village that was in a cave type thing, but I figured I'd have to learn how to use 3DS Max to do it. Maybe I'll be able to make it now that I know more about tessellated cubes.

hmm, it'd be awesome if you're going for it, but do consider how much time tess cubes take up. might cost you over one week to get those caves to an acceptable level.

Sorry to bump my thread like this. I just wanted to post a couple of new pictures and say that I might not be able to complete the map in time for the end of the contest. My interim class is going to take up most of my time; I'm going to have to read the three Lord of the Rings books within two weeks, and then I'm going to have to do a presentation and write a long paper, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete it or not. I'm going wing it and use my free time to work on the map, but it won't be as finished as I would like.
At this point, I think I'm going to cut out some stuff and re-add it in the final release if I can't make it in time.
As luck would have it, I finished in time. A lot of stuff is still incomplete/cut, but at I'm glad that I'll actually be submitting something.

V1 is released. There are going to be quite a few problems that I didn't manage to fix yet, but it's still playable.
