Skaarj ElderStatus: Cancelled
Synopsis: For two years, you've lived and survived in your sweltering, cramped cell. Two years was all it took for you to forget who you are, where you came from, and how you got there. One day, after a particularly brutal beating, you are taken to a 'special interest' cell. When you regain consciousness, you find a note on the cell wall with instructions to get one of the prison's many armories, and you discover that your cell's door has been unlocked. Though the Skaarj made you forget who you were, you did not forget how to kill.
But, as you'll soon learn, Fith's purpose is not as simple as it seems.
Features: Although it's only a single map, it's going to be quite large. I really want this map to feel like a complete location, and as such, there's going to be a lot of exploration involved.
This map was basically just a test of how quickly and efficiently I can map. Originally it started out as being practice for the 10th Anniversary Speedmapping Contest, but I kept going until I decided that I actually wanted to try releasing it. One of the main reasons I want to release it is so I can get a good idea of my mapping strengths and weaknesses.
Update: As much as I hate to say it, I'm going to be canceling this project. I loaded it up today and realized that the layout was a complete mess (and that's an understatement
). I didn't make a diagram for it, and while it looks okay, nothing much else really happens with it. My ideas for it weren't solid at all, either, and it has a ton of BSP holes. Still, I plan on using some ideas from it in a larger project I'll be working on.
