This is a quick topic for my Racing Game for Unreal 227. Quick because it's half past two am.
Well, gotta figure out a good name for that game. Any ideas?
Options:
• Wipeout, naturally. Screw copyrights.
• U-Racer is good enough.
• rUnreal.
• B-Speed
• None of these above, got my own idea much much better
• ...
Features:
Up to 16 large tracks with loads of turns and hopefully nice graphics (8 planned so far) and many more after the Beta release,
On-line gameplay - hopefully, if I figure out how to optimize it and make it look good,
AI drivers - you don't have to play on-line if it's crappy. They are good already,
Weapons and items,
Storyline single player mode - if I manage,
Different gametypes,
Ghost - works already,
Ten ships to choose from, all with different stats,
Hundreds of different skins,
Probably a Skin Editor for your ship - not sure if it will work online but... maybe.
Ship upgrade system - probably only for singleplayer
Ship edit system - for multiplayer,
In-Game game management system - if it works.
Full use of all 227 patch features,

How about "Unbelievable" because that's how I feel whenever I see updates on this. Good god man! It's awesome!
UArch was gonna make a rail shooter called Unrail, which I always found hilarious, but there's no way that's gonna ever get completed. You could almost use that since you're racing on a single track, but it doesn't quite work. Unwheel is amazing but already taken AND your racers have no wheels...
Unsqueal? U-Type? U-Frame? Funreal? UnStoppable? Raceship?

Umm, I've got an idea to make a split screen as well - one player would use keyboard WSAD and the second numpad as the numpad's won't block the WSAD input. At least it never did. Or keyboard and mouse. We will see.
Oh, and... MUSIC AND SOUND ARTIST NEEDED! I've got some idea as it comes to music - D&B with guitars (there have to be an electric guitar) I can provide loads of samples on the guitar as I've got one.

Quick question: How to create in U277 Editor a scripted texture of 1024x1024. I know there's a command for that, but can't figure it out.

This is in-game. I haven't yet figured out how to move that skin to the racing track - as you can see the texture on the screen is different that the one on the ship.

Well, I hope I will stand up to the expectations here
And, no, coolest things make Smirftch and CO with their 227 patch. This wouldn't be even possible without that.
But still, thanks. I'll keep working on it cos I love the idea as well. And now I have a week off from work and ain't bothered by anything so... Yay, I forgot how it is to have some free time xD
Edit: Oh, and it's official, this IS a Whipeout clone. Sony doesn't plan to release any Wipeout games for PC so... I'm gonna make one or two myself goddamit.
