This would be awesome, bring back the vibe of UT99 soundtrack... hope Epic agrees. Though i think they already know the can not agree:P.

Best part I've heard so far.
Another UT is kinda "meh" for me. I'll play it if it's free, sure. But my time for gaming has disappeared and I'm happy with that.
But getting the oldskool composers back on the scene? fuck yeah. If only inoxx, xcept one and the other classic mapping crew would come back and help out too!

My name is Michiel van den Bos and one of the two main composers for the original Unreal and Unreal Tournament. It's been a while and my memory's a bit foggy, but my music has been featured in classic maps like Curse][, Codex, Facing Worlds, Tempest and many others. I've been composing for games ever since, including the universally praised soundtrack for Age of Wonders 3.
I'm writing here because I was getting messages and e-mails telling me I should, due to the announcement of the new UT.
I was wondering if there is any interest in me getting involved and I'm sure I can get Alex to join in too.

I'm fanboying so hard over this haha, I can't believe both Alex and Michiel are back and gonna be doing the music for UT4...holycrap.
also, this topic should maybe be moved to general discussion? It IS Unreal related after all =P Doesn't have to be but just a thought so more people see it I guess.

I'd really like to see a lot of different and unique musicians working on an UT soundtrack
Gave a look at the forums today, I like how Epic is giving some insight on where to start; Polge has made it clear that the movement system is the starting point and he has given a breakdown of it.

I'm liking how direction is going so far with so much in-depth discussion about what things to make appear.
To tell the truth though, after only a few posts skimming, I've already spotted an expected trend: everyone says "make it like old UT's and nothing else". Given the old UT's still fully, actively exist, there really seems to be little in the way of conceptualizing new aspects when there's a complete reference already existing. That further concretizes my reasons for not actively participating in discussion either since, well, everyone already seemingly knows what they want in. (and what they'd rather have as a mod.)
One guy suggested a MOBA-like gametype - after reading it for a while, it's apparently really just Onslaught with dumb bots on the side.

Congratulations! Can't wait for your two's work to end up in the game!
Yeah, I hope this ends up being more than a remake of earlier UTs. I really hope they bring some new stuff to the table.

Might be a bit problematic:
General Gameplay
For gameplay advice and broader discussion of single-player Unreal including custom maps, mods and mutations that alter the game.
"Multiplayer Matters" could work though.
