So, following the ways of somebody who's making a free rehash of Castlevania SOTN in order to fix anything that was wrong with it (aka the gameplay), there's this other guy who decided to create a free 2D CV game which is about using the most known characters of the series against the most recognized bosses of the same series.
A CV Boss Rush game somehow, trying to be more like a fighter with players and enemies having their own HP, MP, special moves.... you know, see the video. Basically an answer to the failure known as CV Judgement.

Content used are from several CV games, but with re-worked sprites, improved animations, fluid controls, and bosses THAT ACTUALLY fight back. The main objective of the game (Arcade mode) is to fight a set of beefed-up CV bosses (a selection from SOTN, AoS, DoS, PoR, OoE), with Death and a Dracula who doesn't suck at the end of the game. Many playable characters are available (with some weird presences too, like somebody from Touhouvania because it's cool) and they work all differently.

Other than the Arcade mode there's a Coop Arcade (two players), VS mode (player vs player), a Survival mode (where you can also fight playable characters with AI - yep, enemy Alucard), Survival Coop and Training Mode. Commands for the characters are in the main website, and duh, you may better read all the info in the website just for precautions.

The game is just fucking addicting, and it's fast as hell; it runs on the Mugen engine and I don't know how the main coder is working with that unholy thing, but it works. There are four difficulty modes and the higher ones will kick your ass unless you have a responsive keyboard (controllers work even better by the way) and massive reflexes, so try it on Easy at the beginning and choose the character you're better at.
Game is not final and the few people are continuously working on it to balance it out and adding new players/bosses. People like Shanoa and Galamoth aren't in it yet but one day they will.

If you like 2D CV games and if you want a brawl between CV characters at fast speed and high difficulty, then this is the game for you.

NOTE: Requires nothing except a good rig. Your anti-virus will say that there's a virus in one of the files but it's false because anti-virus programs are just dumb. And that file isn't even required so

Forgot to mention that I quite suck at the game and old buddy Lesser Demon is kicking my ass on the max difficulty. I feel humiliated

Red Flying Armor from DoS is here. And yes he's tough from Hard difficulty.
Orlox has his first form only but he's 50 times stronger than his SOTN counterpart.

Yeah and it's going to get new CASTLEVANIA characters and bosses in Halloween. Duke Nukem was this year april fool joke.

The non CV stuff can be removed. The game has load of bugs and balance issues but everything is getting fixed for the time being. Decided to join their forums for helping some week ago.
