SS = Schutz Staffel which means something like protection regiment transalted into english. That was hitlers personal bodyguard-regiment until war began. Later in the war it turned into a highly-trained elite platoon and one of the most feared organisations ever created. Actually it was only the SS which killed the jews with their fanatism, the regulary troops of the third Reich just fought a war and had mostly nothing to do with anti-Semitism at all (they didnt even had time to things like that) . - (Dont know why people still belive all ''nazis'' were antisemetistic and killed jews) The SS was somethin like a tolerated ''splinter group'' of the third Reichs army[/history]
