A picture from a trip to Rome last year.

I just like the tile layout.

Trip to NC. Didn't carry my camera around, just got a couple pix coming and going.
What this shot fails to capture is the large void stretching at least 500yrds until reaching this nearly flat wall of trees. I thought it was a cool shot but in reality could only be captured with a super wide-angle fisheye lens. Carcam pix are fun.

On the way back I had to refuel and thought this station was interesting. Four pumps with only enough room to remove the handles in between still using analog gauges. There's only enough room for 1 car on each side at a time. 2 pumps were fuel, 1 kerosene and another diesel. Stations and pumps like this are antiques. I have seen older but they were only for show. Modest modern fuel stations in the US will have at least 2 islands housing 2 digital pumps each with enough room for cars to occupy each pump.
Despite being much more rural the gas at this station cost more than at my city. $20 was enough to get me 200mi.

Whilst undertaking a routine site visit for work I came upon this picturesque scene.

I thought the combination of the lane, the old farm buildings, the gas lamp, the tree in blossom and the flowers cresting the stone wall was fantastic. If it weren't for the car and the boarded-up window, it'd be perfect.

You wouldn't have thought that this was actually within the City of Bristol...

It's part of the valley of the river Frome... something of a rural-seeming oasis in an area of Bristol often dominated by cars and busy roads (I dislike cars and busy roads - traffic is the ruination of the city).

EDIT: My 666th post (cue Satanic chanting music...)

That pic of bristol looks pretty much like a photo of our old towns here in austria, we have similar buildings made of stone which are 3 to 400 hundred years old with people still living in those old houses - next to ultra modern semi-skyscrapers. Makes a pretty funny scenery.

Well, without the typical street lamps, they are a trademark of GB.

I decided to go out and about with my camera this afternoon in the vicinity of Bristol's iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. IMO whoever designed this terrain had a good mastery of Conceptual Grandness! :P

The bridge road sure isn't the widest. Looks kind of cramped, actually! :P

Well, it is, like, 150 years old!

Anyway, I've crossed it in a vehicle many times, and there's room for two cars to pass. During my one year spent commuting to work by car, I used to cross it every day. I still have a pass card with about 60 charges left (all the other suckers have to pay a toll every time they cross!).

Built to last. Isambard Kingdom Brunel ftw.

Nice pictures!
Is that with a little point and shoot, or a more advanced camera?
