I'm new, but I'll join! I've made some UT maps, but only played with making some single player maps before.
I'll be using GOTY Unreal Tournament 99 (Patched to v436, though the main menu tells me it's v432), but I'm not sure what to do about OldSkool, I've never used it before.
Windows 7 shouldn't cause any problems right?
I'm looking forward to this, it'll be fun
Good luck to everyone !

It's a six-week contest, but some people are making jokes about creating and sending their entries very near the deadline, hence the "six-hour" maps.

No, it was written rightly. I just did it as a precaution so that you may definitely expect something from me
But I won't have the time to build something better than a 6-hour-map.

I have an idea for short campaign and like a good contest, however, I totally expect to lose
UT Goty patched to 436, and hopefully OldSkool (which I just re-installed and strangely shows me no monsters, at all !?)

To all entrants.
(Not that it matters). I will be way for three weeks so unfortunately I won't participate in the contest (which means I can't win ) but you all have my moral support for the coming weeks and I know lots of good maps will originate from this (just like the last contest).
Really looking forward to this.

I've been messing around with the 224 editor a bit, and a lot of its issues would cause problems for the kind of map I want to make. Would it be okay if I switched to 227g and converted the map? I don't really get the whole conversion thing though. I'll have to read up on that.

It's tempting to sign up with a map description reading something like "Your ship has crash landed on an alien planet, you have to find a way to get off"

It's not too late to sign up is it? If it is, it's not a big deal, but I wouldn't mind trying out in this
