It's getting critical. Two weeks of contest time remain and the contest sees the first cancelled project due to Qtit's busy schedule. Will you make it to the finishing line?!

Three weeks remain! This means that half of the contest time has passed and your map should accordingly be around 50% completion if you planned your time well.
However it's not too late to enter with improvised, shorter entries that can be completed within 3 weeks!

There's 31 days left between now and the closure of the contest. If we go by the standards set by Hellscrag in our last contest, your build should now be at around 20% completion. Be sure to keep an eye on the time management of your projects! They will not be rated by length, but rather by quality, since the goal is to create complete experiences in this short time span.

Also, I would've entered if I didn't suck so much at making map stuffs. Terrain is something that gets me every time and looking at all these awesome threads with even more awesome rock formations makes me cry a little
Whenever I go to make maps, I get about this far in and just run out of ideas or find myself just throwing cubes and steps in randomly until it just explodes in a cloud of crap.

Anyway. FIRST create a plan. Pure cubes, no lighting, no details, just bunch a rooms and cubic corridors, movers. Make a plan of your SP map. When you're satisfied with your level design switch these simple qbs - one by one - to a more sophisticated ones. Screw the terrain, create a underground temple, skaarj orbital station, deserted mine, WHATEVA! Just do it!

And I agree with the others, you should definitely join the contest for the hell of it. Even if you end up making a 6 hour speed map It's still SOMEthing and it's worth it ^^

You got sime really oversized floor texture there;p Ill start my cool thread today after im done with terrain which will be my best everslol. Do a single nice nice map for the contest you dont need to do ONP maps here you know, its all for fun.
