I don't even go there anyway... Hate waiting for a download.
Trying to get back into the swing of things.

I didn't know AtomicGamer actually hosted sites; I thought it was just a filehost (with presumably some stuff that could get lost). Still, it sounds like the sites hit have generally already worked out alternatives at least.

For those who can't get access to BU downloads it worked (gamefront blocking countries )
though they had some unique downloads and stuff from old sites like Unrealism
Though most of these Video game file hosting / site hosting for games pretty much vanishes one after an other for the worst IMO.

Yeah their archive went back many years as they were the "Telefragged" mirror for many Quake and Unreal projects (also a masterserver).
Much of the stuff that has disappeared from FilePlanet and FileFront is (or was) there.
Hopefully the future holds no delays in getting the files, as the archives are being transferred.

They should have offered the site for sale.

The thing is they lost a lot of files mostly stuff from people who individually used them as file host like dropbox
Same went with gamefront happened ... and even that some files went down mostly from games who werent very popular. Fileplanet mostly lost what was on their fan hosted sites which was a lot of content.
