I am also one of those interested (especially after seeing the enhancements you implemented). But also in this topic I'm wondering if it is really worth it. It's going to take years to finish ... will there still be a audience then?? I'll certainly be there, Unreal and UT will be with me untill I die, even if the future operating systems won't support it (I'll keep a PC especially for U and UT so help me G, J or A and other deities)

Yes, it is really time consuming and it will take some years until this will be finished.
Building maps for Unreal is one of my favorite hobby.

I always compare my work with a guy who have a model railway platform. Maybe other people will never see the result or the work behind it. Its important for the owner that he has fun in what he is doing.

But my thoughts are also, there is actually no remake of Unreal and this masterpiece was a milestone in game history. Maybe some people will replay the game with this updated version.
This project is also a showcase, what Unreal can achive with the 227 Patch.

And If I ever decide to stop working on it, because of some changes in life or what ever. I'll release everything I have in unfinished state.

I think it is not so much an issue of discontinued interest, because fueling that interest is exactly what modding+mapping do. :P

I've seen his stuff. It's worth waiting for. In fact he sent me something yesterday that I've been thinking about all night, wondering why i never did such a simple thing.

Krullor is an artist and UEngine is his clay. You'll see.

Also just to emphasize, Krullor, you've actually done pretty well in a somewhat small space of time, you just need to keep going and the project will be inevitably finished.

Did you snab any of the assets/stuff in that Skytown update map i sent you? (it may be a while until you start on Skytown, however)

Thank you for your words @ gopostal :) after this project I will move on and switch over to newer game engines :)

@ Kajgue

I already took a look at your skytown version and there is already useful stuff which I can use.
It will take a while until I reach skytown to work on. :)

I rework all maps in story direction. So I can test the gameplay changes and how it feels to play all updated maps in a row :)

Short update news.

Ceremony is nearly done I have fix a lot of annoying BSP holes :/ and the AI pathing.

I think I can start with Dark Arena in August. :)

With all standard textures and skins it runs actually fine @ 60+ fps in singleplayer mode with my hardware.
For the network play I have to reduce the amount of the effects :D

I never tried to play with the s3tc textures and your HD skins.
I'm also planning to implement your skins into my Packages. The credits goes to you.
I'm using some new meshes so the full compatibility is broken.

GeForce GTX 970 with 4GB
XOpenGL Renderer
